Esports has grown exponentially from its humble roots. We went from the basements of convention halls to stadiums all over the world.
But that doesn’t mean we haven’t had hiccups now and then. And by hiccups, we mean catastrophic scandals.

5:16 Blizzard hires very handsome women.
Rick was universally loved across most esports scenes. Poor guy :c
Top scandal is that mustache brother. Shave that bullshit off your lip 🤣
Imagine banning someone for saying free Hong Kong
I’m catching up on my eSports history and Rick Fox was apart of it???
Blizzard really should’ve just let him be. I understand maybe removing the video or asking him to redo it. (Still shouldn’t have because message of equality >>> cash) But by doing all of the rest, they’re just basically standing w the Chinese government.
ey dont show the hawai politician speaking about lootboxes as valves fault thats trucking EA games
the olaf boost is not a cheat or Warren disqualification, its in my opinion a team that found a new tact on a map. if its such a problem valve can remove it!
man can we please stop the cancel culture? of people who say stupid shit should get punished but come on "deleting" them is not a solution!
Number 1 should have been the EA Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot box scandal. That one forced every nations hand to go after EA
Best eSports competitors: Asians Best eSports cheaters: also Asians
If you're over 18... You can do what you want. If youre under 18... Your parents allowing you to use their credit card makes them retarded. No need for the government to step into this
Olaf boost is just big brain time
Valve : *player doing gambling scene, without their approval* Justice System and Politician : "This is why vidya game is evol" EA : *encouraging player to buying loot boxes that basically gambling, lockdown fully paid game inside paywall, and some shady stuff* Justice System and Politician : "As the video gaming scene is not essential to our life that can wait, we have more pressing matter to deal with"
So Tfue is whining even though he has like 15 million
#1 was epic 😂
The olof boost scandal still enrages me. Like it was legit the part of the map. Nothing illegal. No bug use. It was part of the map. Fuck you ldlc
"I make my living off gaming and peoples hard work I dont stand for anything that stops thst besides me"
I should from my old cod mw clips
cs go scandals hit the local community's hard especially trust issues during online matches bec of cheating
ey tmartn thanks for fucking my lootboxes in belgium
The alert drain greely ignore because degree largely admire during a plain lipstick. pointless, lively acrylic
i hate hat strikers pack arent banned
RIP Echo Fox. Rick Fox was easily one of the most "normal" people that accepted professional gaming for what it is...unlike most people over the age of 30
I just fucking love Rick Fox!
LDLC = Left Dazed, Left Confused
ETHAN IN THE HOUSE💪🏽😂
wait, is this the rick fox that played with kobe and shaq in the 2000's???
kuku lang malakas
HAHAHA KUKU
Im a filipino myself and I have NEVER said anything racist in my entire gaming history. I felt bad for him.
So we found this new site
who remembers IBuyPower when they played rocket league
10:26 hes reading a script poorly. if you want to win hearts and minds you have to show some realism.
U forgot to mention that Faze Clan owned one of this CS go Gamblings site (csgo wild) and bought a cs go team for scam money
China is an evil country and the Chinese Communist Party is a crime syndicate
If there's anything I learned it's that CS:Go has a lot of scandals
How good is Blizzard taking care of their games?
The super smash bros abuse scandals are 1000000x worse than all of this combined
Imagine making 20m and still crying over a contact, look into music contracts they get fucked 100x worse......
No Solo's 322 scandal? The scandal gave birth to a meme that reverberated throughout all esports scene
Amit Raizada tmkc
How is the blizzard china fuck up not number 1? Was international news!
So guy burns his whloe org because one of the investors said some naughty words. I dont feel bad for him.
lol shitzard games.
China banning Kuku was just right after saying those racial slurs, but there is blatant double standards as Chinese pros also are often left unpunished for doing the same to all races they face against.
isnt csgo+18? so why they want to "protect the minors", if they shouldnt be allowed to even play the game? so guns and violence is okay, but when thers gambling, whold my brath.
Cs go is 16+
You missed that someone during the Rick fox incident had sent death threats against his family
Optic snubbed, kinda insulting it is being erased from history
•
You should just get over it. The guy used a racial slur. Who cares?
You guys just missed the massive smash ultimate scandals
Going to jail over a game should have been number 1
I heard one of them used to rub glue on his keyboard before every game.
The cameraman is a hater for saying what he said at the end of the video🖕🏽🤣
i am new here and loving your channel!
When you remeber Korea takes their game scene so seriously, you can face jail time for cheating lol
@Colin Smith yeah it sounds ridiculous cause it's gaming related but when you think about how much money is in esports, especially in korea, it makes a lot of sense for it to be a serious crime
It's not about cheating it's about match-fixing, sure it's a kind of cheating but the person who wins may not even be in on it and really it's about the money. You can certainly face jail time in the US for fixing professional sports matches, The Black Sox Scandal is a classic example.
Rick Fox played with Kobe and Shaq, I legitimately didn't know he had a stint with a eSports team
Olof boost: legitimately clever play that requires deep knowledge of map design and doesn't technically break any rules Dreamhack: that's illegal anyway
It does present an unfair advantage because it basically allows someone to snipe without being seen
Yea, cause Valve totally didn't pander to China, there totally weren't empty seats during the grand finals, the crowd totally wasn't silent and everything was perfect.
Yeah, lol. Weird how they kind of glossed over the fact that there have still been very lasting consequences
Swag has been unbanned since last year
xyp9x in the background like bruh 14:16
Some people can never avoid drama
The IBP perma bans seem pretty excessive. Most others on the list got something like a couple years suspension, maybe a fine or some community service, and were allowed to return. Granted apparently in Korea some of them pulled jail time too? Still that seems more fair than just a permanent ban from your job.
You sound like that doctor on youtube
On 15:17 I think they used word play to mask it. They "found" CSGO Lotto, which, to the majority of the folks watching, equates to the word "discover". But the word "found" can be used to "establish", or "create", hence we have words like "Founding Fathers", or something similar. A very good choice of words, ngl. So, technically, they disclosed it, albeit way too subtle to notice.
Number 10 and 9 show such a contrast. Saying the n-word is unacceptable, but somehow saying racial slurs against China is completely fine. The hypocrisy, just wow.
322
'were trying to make it so those kids cant get those kinds of games' ...ya they are mostly rated r or 17+ cause of gambling microtransations and such. dont buy your 13 year old call of duty every fucking year karen
pelepens numba wan
i saw the last one and it said csgo betting scandal and immediately thought tmartn and boom his over active facial feature of him smiling filled my screen lol
unNsaaCJSC4
Is Rick Fox a player on Los Angeles Lakers?
lol when they redo this list I imagine a lot of the spots will go to the smash community
Should have talked about the league of legends Moscow 5 scandal
If Faze didn't support Tfue. He wouldn't have been this rich or have the fame.
Racial slurs my ass and that impacts the gaming skills? PLEASE STOP WITH THIS PC BS!!!
Why did the guy who didn't want to be with a racist left, but when the same thing happened again but in China, the guy who said a racist slur got kicked?
Can’t wait for part two of this where it’s all smash bros players
All this has told me is that I fucking hate present blizzard
Dear lord #4; Tfue is shit, I disagree with his lawsuit, he’s really dumb
Its crazy that this video was released 5 months ago, because in 2020 we had a new #1 (or #2) biggest scandal in esports history in the FGC, and specifically around the smash bros community. That was about 3 months ago from today.
Why did u not include phantomlord in the skin gambling that is the biggest scam ever
Gonna have to update the list this year
koreans take their esport seriously
I like how the fox reporter just has to say. 'Whos a democrat' lol
I feel bad for Rick.
The olof boost seems like a big brain play
how about WINGS scandal ?
I guess the Overwatch League has done a good job then? Haven't heard of any scandals in it, yet.
Cant have a controversy if your league is fucking dead lmao
The entire DreamKazper situation shouldve been on this list.
What was no. 4 about? Did the guy get conned by faze?
its truly impressive what esports has become i would have never thought anyone would give a crap about dudes playing video games
Thanks for the constant Trump ads.
1:58 : "why a Filipino esports player was banned from a major Dota 2 tournament" If you guys think that's bad, you guys should try going to the Philippines, we have Internet cafes full of people screaming slurs and just straght up dumb shit here
Yeah, we even insult each other with racist words if it's too heated, I kinda miss doing that but I'm chill now
Yup, especially the kids playing 1v1's.
People say esports and then it’s almost all LoL 😔😔
On the spot 1: Luckily every ALfirstr now adds for VPNs so you can bybass local laws and still buy your loot boxes :)
how is that blizzards fault¿¿¿
I just really feel bad for Rick Fox dude. He is just such a sweet and passionate fan when it comes to eSports, even better when he was a former NBA champion. I can't believe he was facing through all this. I really hope I get to see him back in the eSports scene as a supporting role
Why the Chinese people were so mad at Kuku for saying "ching chong"?
